Experience the thrill of an elephant back
ride to view the abundance of game and
birdlife the Waterberg region has to offer.
Combine this with a breakfast, and you
have the recipe for and unforgettable
experience! And elephant back ride is an
adventure to be remembered forever.
These elephant ride packages follows a
duration of approximately two and a half
hours in total, and include a welcome
drink on arrival, a 30 minute elephant ride
starting from the newly developed
elephant lapa at the lodge, breakfast in
their Bushman Diner restaurant, a 30
minute ride back to the lapa and ample
opportunity to interact with these majestic
giants as well as a chance to feed a
young elephant. Children under the age
of 5 years are not allowed on elephant
back rides but are welcome at shows and
picture taking. Children aged 5 – 12 years
are allowed on elephant back rides, but
have to sit with an adult.

The Rain Queen - Modjadji is the
guardian of the Modjadji Cycad reserve.
This reserve is the largest cycad forest
in the world, covering more than 1300
acres. The Encephelartos Transvenosus
(Modjadji Cycad) is the largest Cycad in
Africa with specimens exceeding 15
metres.

The Research & Breeding Centre for
Endangered Species near Hoedspruit is
situated on 100 hectares within the
Kapama Private Game Reserve. It is a
unique project which conducts essential
research on endangered species and
provides the opportunity to view the
animals which have found a home here
in their natural surroundings.
Visitors are guided through the research
and breeding centre by experienced
guides. More than 70 cheetahs including
tame ones, cubs and the extremely
beautiful King Cheetah can be viewed.
