Explore San-Rock art & the Saltpans
The San, or Bushmen, called the
Soutpansberg home for centuries.
The area’s teeming wildlife, near
perfect weather and abundance of shelter
and water provided the perfect home for
these ancient people. Today, the
Bushmen no longer live in the area,
but their art ensures that their memory
will never fade. Much of the Soutpansberg
contains beautiful examples of San
rock-art especially the caves and shelters
they inhabited all those years ago.

Diamonds Galore!
The youngest diamond mine in South
Africa, Venetia, has been in operation
since 1991. It is currently the largest
diamond producer in South Africa, with
3,738 million carats mined in 1999,
almost 40% of South African production.
The mine has an estimated lifespan of
20years and the two largest pipes are
currently being mined in a single open
pit operation

Magical crafts of Mogalakwena
An integral part of the Mogalakwena
experience is a visit to the Mogalakwena
Craft Art Village where traditional art
forms are practiced. The village also
comprises and artist’s retreat, writer’s
cottage and spacious, sunny two-roomed
studio. Mogalakwena regularly hosts
workshops where embroidery, beading,
basket weaving and hand screen printing
is taught.

Dare to climb Blouberg…
The Blouberg Mountain Range is home to
some of the most spectacular
rock-climbing in South Africa – if not the
entire continent! Sheer cliff faces and
incredible scenic beauty, make the
Blouberg a must-visit destination for
serious and experienced climbers.
The area is perhaps most famous for its
big wall natural climbing with some route
lengths up to 350 meters.

Mogol – Golfing Challenge
Golf courses don’t come more
challenging than this. The 18-hole Mogol
Golf Course in Lephalale is well known
for its enormous marula trees
sometimes called sky bunkers that
require great skill and concentration in
navigating successfully.
